Pedem Ltd, a Portlethen-based oil and gas engineering company, has expanded into a former aircraft hanger on Broomfield Industrial Estate, Montrose.
Built during the Second World War as part of the Montrose Aerodrome, the hanger was acquired by Angus Council in the early 1980s and has since been home to a wide variety of commercial occupiers, most recently an indoor go-kart track.
Extending to just under 19,000 sq ft, the unit will be used by Pedem for the repair, service and rental of oilfield equipment. A number of new jobs will be created initially, and it is hoped that this will rise as the new operation establishes itself in the area.
