Welcome to Angus
The county of Angus, lying between the cities of Aberdeen and Dundee in North East Scotland, is an area of stark contrasts and outstanding natural beauty. Its 27-mile stretch of North Sea coastline gives way to the fertile plain of the Valley of Strathmore, which rises up to meet the picturesque Angus Glens. It is an enironment that lends itself to a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hillwalking, sailing, and angling. Golf also features prominently, with over a dozen courses peppering the landscape, including the Carnoustie Championship, host to 1999 and 2007 Opens. |

Indoor facilities also abound, with quality sports centres and swimming pools serving each of Angus's seven towns.
And for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, you can go to the match - Angus is home to four senior football teams - namely Arbroath, Brechin City, Forfar Athletic, and Montrose - all of whom compete in the Scottish Football League.
The county's seven burghs also offer extensive retail and hospitality facilities, so no matter where you are in the area everything you need is right on the doorstep. |
